« on: January 05, 2014, 20:49:50 »
hi blokes , just looking to fit the centre stand to my glee( genuine Suzuki part  )  just want to know which way the springs go??? as the springs have a short and long rod . I know they go inside one another just need the correct orientation
is the short rod to the frame mounting bracket or is it the long rod to the mounting bracket or does it not matter
I don't have the instructions as was removed from my old bike 18 months ago and can't remember (bugger
hope somebody can help j
thanks in advance Jason

Typically, the long ends go on the frame and the short ends go on the stand leg as they are easier to get on that way. The spring doesn't have to be stretched as far to fit.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

I don't know about fitting them but I do know that if you get your foot trapped between the stand and the bike it acts like a mantrap and a worrying few seconds will come to pass as bike and rider disentangle themselves. Just don't ask me how I know :)  :)  :)
I look quick therefore I am.
