You have to take the wheel off to get the sensor off and take it apart to grease it.
It is a difficult job if you have to do all your work outside on a sloping, crumbling footpath. Last week reversing the axle was a difficult job as halfway through the job the stand punched a hole in the path and bike went over - caught by my female weightlifter neighbour (the bike not me).
You could ask here if anybody in your area has a place you can use for a little while to do the work. Maybe your neighbour can hold up the front end long enough to do the job.
A pic of you neighbour would be nice?
