I finally ditched the standard fitment on my 1000 and fitted a full set of Anakee 2's.
After 5 minutes of scrubbing in it felt like I was on a different bike. After 300 miles of sweeping and tight bends I now have a confidence in the bike that I never thought was possible.
That horrible shudder from the front end on the straight and the feeling of remoteness from the front end was replaced with a responsive feel that helped me relax in a way I've not done on the bike before.
These tyres combined with the fork brake have left me with a bike which feels as stable and responsive as my Suzuki 750 - wish I had done it ages ago.
I was worried I had picked the wrong bike in the V Strom - but now realise the bike is great, it was the tyres all along.
Bring on the summer trip to Slovenia!!!!
