Worked a night shift last night, got 3/4 hours sleep this morning then opened up garage, did a check over of my k8 DL1000 and rode from Alloa to The Green Welly at Tyndrum for a nice run out as the weather was (again) utterly beautiful. From home went via; Greenloaning - Creiff - Lochearnhead - Tyndrum, and return journey similar, via Doune - Dunblane etc... Fabulous ride out, was meant to meet up with another fellow biker but it never materialised, so went solo. Covered 125 miles today.
Was great to do this run today as I could PROPERLY evaluate both the recently fitted TRE module and (2 teeth more) rear Renthal sprocket, oh my word, the smoothness of the TRE is a B-I-G improvement, like fitting a cheaper power-commander, trust me it's that GOOD!!!!!, bought the TRE module from eBay at a cost of £26 (delivered), I would highly recommend this up-grade!!
And the break down on the 43 tooth sprocket is; yes it's a very worthwhile purchase, so much STRONGER power delivery especially in the upper gears, was laughing inside my helmet many times as I rolled on the (effortless) silky power, real laugh let me tell you, never had as much fun, met up with quite a few other bikers whom I didn't know and played with them on the twisties, grunt/power/strength outta/into corners, wOw fabulous stuff!! So these two new purchases has given me personally more confidence knowing its stronger and smoother to ride faster (or slower), whatever floats your boat, I like to send it on a bit.
And I've yet to set aside time soon to remove the secondary throttle butterflies etc, more improvements ahead, Hello I'm utterly loving my now GRUNTY DL thou - wOw! A real hoot to ride with above stuff done, superb.
