I have just fitted shiny Beowulf rad covers to my wee and I noticed the oil cooler is covered with a thick lumpy  paint. Is this normal?

Not normal, just been to look at mine, but its shiny (ish) paint, smooth...yours looks like the gravy me youngest daughter makes! Some previous owners just been tarting it up a bit with hammerite, I think. Unless it was coated to try to stop a leak??! :shrug:

I've had my L0 Wee from new and mine is exactly the same as yours Brockett so I guess nothing to worry about.  Suzuki must've changed how they coat these things from around 2009 onwards?  Or maybe just a dodgy batch on the paint front?  Otherwise the cooler is all fine - no problems...

Perfectly normal. My classic Wee looked exactly the same (59 plate).
