rear wheel bearings
« on: July 01, 2013, 15:04:04 »
I need to replace the rear wheel bearings on my 2004 wee. I've got the 2 that fit in the wheel but need the one that fits in the sprocket carrier. I've been told this is an oem part only and its coming up around 40 quid! are there any alternatives?

Size: 32x65x17mm
Suzuki #: 09262-32007
Common #: 62/32-2RS

I got mine from Amazon.
Verify the size before ordering. I've seen bearings advertised as 62/32-2RS that were not 32x65x17mm.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

You can also get the sprocket carrier bearings (and various weird ones) from www.marksman-ind.com

My Suzuki dealer replaced my sprocket carrier bearing for under £10...so I guess he didn't use the OEM bits..I'm happy with that.

Don't buy the cheapest (nor the most expensive!) bearings you can buy. Best to get branded ones from a reputable supplier. Most towns will have a proper engineering factors who can supply them at sensible cost. Just take your old ones in (or the numbers stamped on them) and they can soon match them. There are branded but counterfeit ones about that shouldn't be fitted in a kid's windmill let alone your bike.
