oil cooler hose compatibility
« on: April 09, 2011, 16:09:24 »
Hiya boys and girls,
does anyone happen to know if the oil hoses off a 2007 DL650 will fit on my 2009 DL650. :fix:  I may have a very slight leak and am looking at replacing them with some that I've seen on the internet?

Cheers

Ritchie

Does anyone know where to find some cheap oil hoses?

One of mines burst a while back (2nd gear at 8,000rpm if my memory serves me rightly...) and I 'bodged' a repair (cut out the damaged section of metal pipe and slid 10mm dia rubber fuel hose over and secured with 2 hose/jubilee clips at each end.  Its worked a treat, but I doubt it will get past an MOT tester (even though it doesn't leak)).

It should pass MOT like, Ebay and bike breakers are probably your best bet. It is also likely that the SV650 hoses fit the Wee and there's a lot more spares around for SV650 bikes than the Wee and they are generally cheaper. Let me know if you don't know how to check and I'll check for you.

:ty:  Thanks for all the info it's really helpful. Didn't go for the oil hoses from the 2007 model after all and managed to get a pair from a 2009 model from the same company.  :thumb: Got them from Fleabay, for anyone who's interested, and I paid about 28 Dollars including postage. Let's see if they arrive shall we!?

It may be as cheap to have one made by a company such as Pirtek or Fencol.
have a google or look in the yellow pages

Agreed - although I can confirm that the Wee oil pipes are the same as the 2003 and later (pointy style) SV650 parts.
