well the DVLA/DSA have been taking about scrapping L plates on bikes unless your accompanied by and instructor. ie. no more cbt and on the road. you've have got to pass your test first.
I think it'll stop the idiots that want a scoot or scramble to muck around on, but also stop the people that need a bike to commute but can't afford the cost of passing a test.
if they'd introduced it before I'd passed I would have been buggered, there was no way I could have got to work, so it would be a pity to stop L plated commuters but what's best in the long run?
then again if the idiots know if they pass their test they can have a bigger/slightly bigger bike and still be idots at faster speeds.
syciatric evaluation before getting a bike licence, I think we'd all fail that one...
try comming up with a good answer to "what is the true reason you would want to ride a vehicle that is inherantly unstable, slight imperfections in road surface can cause serious handling problems, no saftey impact bars that are standard in car- hence no protection, be extreamly hot/cold depending on time of year, cause deafness, little or no on board entertainment, and the highlight of the week is to ride into the middle of no where on a sunny sunday afternoon, pull over in a gravel lay-by and eat nasty food and talk to other ugly blokes dressed like you... head to toe in leather?"
OK I'm rambleing now
sorry
