Crap Drivers
« on: September 24, 2010, 17:22:35 »
I had a little off today in Witney.

The lovely driver who caused it by his appalling driving stopped, looked at me lieing on the floor and drove off at speed............. :angry-tappingfoot:

Unfortunately I only got a partial reg. number but I will certainly recognise him and his car again.

Usual damage to the bike......indicator, hand guard, bar end, gear selector to be replaced. Engine bars did a great job with only cosmetic type scrapes and scratch damage to fairing.

No major bodily damage just a 'hurty hand' :bawl:  :bawl:

Oh well!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Crap!  This sounds awfully familiar.

There are some scumbags on the road!!!! :GRR:  :GRR:

It sounds like you're alright apart from your hurty hand but please make sure you get properly checked out.  A bike can be repaired or replaced but you're more important.

I hope they catch the S.O.B and string them up by the tender bits!

Take care!
Mark.

Did you have witnesses? Have you informed the Police? Failure to stop at an accident is a criminal offence.
Hope hand heals soon.

Three very lovely ladies stopped at the time, one gave me her number( for witness reasons, obviously).

Local police informed but nothing doing with only a partial plate......please phone back if you can identify!!

Mark, I self diagnosed my hand/wrist and I am fine. Thanks for your concern.

I will have to use my wifes car for work Monday and Tuesday and then the bike will go in to be sorted on wednesday morning. I'm afraid I'm not much good with spanners etc anymore so I'll pay someone who is........

Hi

I have had a look on some sites I have used in the past and best I could come up with for your friend Jeyre60152 from the V Strom site (Came up on search engine when looking for details of Vectra Reg) is the following

Vehicle Registration Mark
KN55SXG
Make
VAUXHALL
Model
VECTRA SXI CDTI 8V
Transmission & fuel type
MANUAL 6 GEARS DIESEL
Body Type
5 DOOR HATCHBACK
Colour
BLUE

that's the only match I could find online, could have nothing to do with it, but fact its blue and a vectra, and matches the KN55, its a good start id say. Anyway good luck to your friend, hope this might help.

Shame on the police for not being able to figure something like that out themselves... This is the most watched country in the world, surely there is a camera near there somewhere that recorded something around that time, even if it's just one that gets the full reg of the car down the road from where it happened or something?

Damn and blast !!!!!

Thankfully you are still in one piece , and the bike isn't too bad .

Details of the car ? Has it sustained any damage - I'm only a short distance away and will keep my eyes peeled - driving off after an accident is an offence , I hope the bugger gets caught before he does it again .

last weekend on the Oxford ring road a biker got knocked off and the car,a silver vw if my memory serves me correctly drove off,the biker had a broken ankle, lets hope after your accident in not far away witney we are not beginning to see a trend in oxfordshire, although if you see the weekly magistates reports they are filled with non insured non qualified drivers getting smaller fines than insurance would cost,a problem apparently rife in certain parts of london I've been told, still get better soon at least when I was hit the lady stopped and apologised,

Is it worth a quiet word with the police (go in in your work gear) and asking them to trace the vehicle - after all you were injured so an offence was committed so they should act..
No bike at present.......
