« on: June 12, 2010, 18:50:38 »
I've got a strom 1000 57 plate , losing fluid from the clutch master cylinder. Think it's leaking at the bottom ??? Not very handy on the maintenance. Where's it best 2 get seal kit ??  Is it easy 2 do ?? or best leave it 2 the professionals ???????? :shy:

Almost definitely will be the clutch slave seal.

It's not desperately hard, here's a link to how to do it on an FJ1200 (will give you the general idea) , cos it will be similar.

Someone sells them on e bay at £20 + P+P; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Clutch-Master-Cylinder-Repair-Kit-Suzuki-DL1000-DL-1000-/170327219973?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item27a84b1f05#ht_1623wt_911

That's just for the master, it's the slave that's gone.

I'd rip it apart, mine went a few years back, just needed a good clean, the seal was still good, just covered in loads of grit and grime.

Been perfect ever since being cleaned up.

I have the seal still that I bought to replace mine, it's yours if you need it!  (If I can find the thing  :shy: )

Hi mate

My clutch fluid was dropping too.  I took it into Thunder Road.  They charged 35 quid for the parts and labour to change the seals.

All fixed.  Landed.  Not as bad as I thought.
