What a lucky bastard!
« on: June 11, 2010, 18:12:30 »
Well it's happened, I've just had my 1st fall.

I turned onto my drive WAY too fast, went wider than normal, caught the front wheel in deep gravel and came off. I actually jumped off and ended up running down the drive, so no damage to me. However my new bike was laid on its side on the drive, not good. But when I picked it up and got it on its stand, aside from two very little scratches on the crash bar, the bike is unmarked. The mirror wasn't even out of line.

So if you don't have any yet, you must fit a set of crash bars, I dread to think how much they've just saved me.

Congratulations, that's that out of the way, and with no harm done.

Don't suppose you had the presence of mind to take a photo of it having a wee lie down?

That was lucky     Mr B virtually fell out with his baby when he dropped her, refused to look at her in the garage because she had a tiny scratch

Phew! you were well lucky - good old crash bars to the rescue

I had a little accident when I was putting my Vee on a front paddock stand by myself - stupid I know

Lift - tilt - crash - bollocks - it was on its side  ###

I couldn't pick it up by myself - Dodgy knee you know  :limp: - so I ran in the house and dragged my son out of bed - he helped my lift it onto the sidestand then went back to bed ( when he woke later he couldn't remember helping me   )

I was also very lucky - broken clutch lever - small scrape on crash bars and barend - small scratch on rear footpeg mount

All mended now - another big vote for crash bars  :thumb:
C'mon spring I want to get riding

Crash bars have saved mine twice on reasonable speed spills, the bars wore through but save a lot of damage to plastics, engine & frame.  Get 'em. :thumb:
