screen upgrade oldermodel to newer type help needed

after a recent off which left a bit of front end damage, I thought on rebuil I would like to upgrade my 2004 older model to the later model screen.
can anyone offer any advice on this
what parts are needed ?
are the wee and vee bits interchangeable ?
and are parts interchangable from different years k5/k8 ect
any help on this would be great particularly from someone who has done the same.

Might be worth a look at bike bandit or partshark for the specific part numbers - this would give you an idea which parts are used on what models. If you've got the patience these sites seems list every part! Although these are US sites the vast majority of part numbers will be the same.

thanks for the sugestion, have done that but things arn't that clear,
however going to try and work it out then maybe I can post how it went.
