More advice please
« on: June 09, 2010, 18:04:59 »
As I thought the cb 1300 is a total loss,so what next ? Truth be told the Honda was a real impulse buy, I,d had the V for 18 months and always fancied a cb1300 so as is the norm for me I dived in. Although the Honda had better brakes, better suspension, handled better etc, thing is I preffered the strom  .So which one V or Wee what do you think?

Throw it right back at you, what do you use your bike for, or what do you want to use your bike for?

For distance touring etc. 2 up, got to be a V

For bimbling about the back roads and trails, Wee over V

For rippin the sports bike blokes a new one, V with upgraded brakes

For ripping the sports bike blokes and the V blokes on back roads, Wee ;)

For commuting distance, Wee (fuel consumption etc etc)

For having a ball, either .

BUT, you need to be honest with yourself and decide what you really want to use your bike for, and what you will use your bike for, cos that decides which bike pretty much.

(if that makes sense)

You really can't ask advice from others on this one. It will always be down to personal choice and you have to get what suits you.
Some prefer the higher BHP and more grunt of the Vee which does make it more suitable if you carry a pillion, some prefer the lightness and frugal fuel econemy of the Wee and it also has a smoother engine than the 1000cc lump.
Its your call.

Scratching & loads of twisties, Wee, it's lighter.  Touring & straighter riding, Vee, got more grunt and heavier but still able to handle some nice twistie riding. But only IMHO,
Wish I could have kept Mrs Erics Wee for some real fun riding, but I love the Vee and its extra oomph! Especially 2 up.
