Depends on the brand, model and style of tyre. If it’s purely a road tyre, then the tread depth will be far less than an off road oriented knobbly tyre. I’m afraid you will need to be specific to get dimensions.

My Bridgestone A41's start off at around 8mm in tread depth, there is very little rubber after that.
It's amazing how quick the carcass will show.

For safety's sake shouldn't you be changing your tyre(s) at 1mm?
I swapped mine with 2mm left on the centre @10,000miles
Trying to keep an open mind

I had a flat tyre in my rear tyre, I put a worm in it and I wanted to know how thick it was.

Spadger, whilst the UK legal min is 1mm, I would never try and run a tyre below 1.6-2mm purely out of respect for the stresses tyres go through.

The car tyres get changed at 3mm, although that is partially because they're all seasons and I am aware that their snow grip ability massively drops off after that.

It's the tyres ability to clear/channel water at low tread depth that is the concern rather than any stress in the tyre carcass
