Cutting out low speed
« on: August 18, 2024, 12:53:33 »
Hello, I've got a klv1000 2005 and it's cutting out at low speed. As soon as I start it up it really struggles but as soon as it gets over 4000rpm it seems OK but then cuts out when I'm coming back down the gears.
The battery is fine and the generator is charging at 14.2v.
Could this be the coil pack?

Have you managed to solve the cutting out problem that you were having? I'm curious what caused this fault.

There were issues on the DL1000 and KLV1000 where a backfire into the air box would blow the throttle bodies off the inlet hoses.
An intake leak would explain this issue you are having.

Take a look at the throttle bodies and check they are seated correctly.

IIRC owners used to secure them with wire to some convenient loops in the heads casting.
