Haven't got a clue, about the X and just about everything else really.
But some clever bugger will know.

Two answers to the same question on Stormtrooper site. They both make sense to me.

1. Suzuki calls the wire spoked model a DL1000XT on both their website and in their 2018 product brochure, but on the paperwork for my bike from the dealer I bought it from, its listed as a DL1000XA. You can also find lot things on Google where it's also listed as a DL1000XA.

So I guess both are acceptable, and I have been referring to mine as a DL1000XA.  :thumb:

2. The way I see it is V-Strom XT is the model and 1000 is the approximate engine size. The non XT model is referred to as the DL1000A, "A" meaning with ABS. The XT model gets the "X" added to be referred to as a DL1000XA.

Hope this answers your question.
