Yes your fittings are not the same as Givi, which Suzuki have used in the past.
I don't see why you could not use your top plate as I have done, or possibly raise your plate with spacers but that might not be as strong. The Givi kit has the option to slide the box plate a bit to give a little more room.

Hi

My 800RE now has approx 6k miles on it at the moment, and does suffer from a little vibration at around 5k revs, but nothing I can really complain about, but others might!

I have a cruise control kit on order from overseas, and am awaiting delivery, and will enjoy the problems (sic) of fitting it in the near future.

I find the machine lively after my much loved 650 L2, and nearly as frugal.
All in all its a keeper.
