Handlebar risers recommendations for 1000 XT please?
« on: October 22, 2023, 11:51:25 »
Good day all, just thinking of getting some handlebar risers for my 1000 xt 2018 as I would like the bars a little higher and maybe slightly further back. Am I correct in thinking I need 22mm risers? only asking because I see some risers are suitable for 22mm but can also fit 28mm big bar so a bit confused. I do not fancy getting longer hoses etc and so just want something that is plug and play, I'm sure I've read somewhere that you cannot go higher than 20mm if you do not want to extend anything?
Thanks for any help  :)

Going by what I read in reply #22 of https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=34578.0, the up and back risers will require some sort rerouting or even possible extension of the existing brake hose and cables.
https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=38789.0 has a warning on possible brake hose components, when using up and back risers.
Bottom line is that many owners of the L8 Veek have complained that there is not a lot of slack when t comes to adding risers. Worth further investigation on how much slack you can achieve before ordering the risers..
