DID 525 ZVM-X2 chain vs 525 ZVM-X
« on: September 19, 2023, 19:53:49 »
Hello. I have ordered new chain and received 525 ZVM-X2 instead of ordered 525 ZVM-X. Does anyone know what are differences? On did website I found out connecting link is not interchangeable. Could not find more differences.

From what I have just read, you have the strongest chain on the market which is good for 1300cc bikes and very high BHP superbikes. You may have paid a lot for the privilege (I don't know how much more it might have cost you) but I would be happy to fit that to any bike including my DL650A. I'm not a mechanic but one should be along soon to say the same thing.  :thumb:

Always buying this one, also not a lot, £99 but that was not my question really 😉

If the rivet link isn't interchangeable, I'd guess the plates ( inner, outer or both ) will be thicker. Maybe minutely, but enough to make the link incompatible.

For those who are interested. Response from DID.

Hello Peter,

We appreciate you reaching out!

Long story short, the ZVM-X2 chains have our most up-to-date X-Ring seal technology, which is thinner than our old X-Ring. Because the seal is thinner, so is the ZVM-X2.

The ZVM-X chains are more wide and have a longer pin length in comparison to the new ZVM-X2.

Hope that helps and please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you,
