2004 DL650 rear brake disc.
« on: March 21, 2023, 14:14:03 »
Hello all,

I've just measured the thickness of my rear brake disc and it is down to 4mm. I can't find the service limit but suspect that is on the thin side as both front discs measure 5mm. I've been in touch with my local Suzuki dealer here in Hungary and they are quoting an OEM replacement of £170. Does this sound reasonable and would anyone suggest and alternative to the OEM disc?

Thank you,

Dicky.

I've had a look in the Haynes manual and it say's that the disk is 5mm and service limit 4.5mm.

I looked on Ebay and found a cheaper EBC disk and as we know, EBC make OEM disks for lots of manufactures. Link below but this was the first one I saw and you may find the same cheaper. Hope this helps.

Brilliant. Thank you very much for taking the time. I'll see who supplies EBC stuff here in Hungary.

Cheers,

Dicky.

Any chance that you can find a rotor from a different Suzuki product, that would have the same specs as for the K4 Wee and costs less?  The thread https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=41726.0 is wrt a L9 Veek, but it lets one think whether there is another alternative.

At first I had difficulty locating the language setting, but if one selects the flag on top right hand side, then under the Europe selection you can set to the prefered language or for the English setting simply go to https://www.trwaftermarket.com/en/catalogue/#vehicleType=M&market=fr
