It's still a VStrom.
V is for vertical twin. :)
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Is the intention to use the same (slightly modified) engine to replace the 'all rounder' cast wheeled 650?

There is a road version with this engine launched at the same time as the DE.........?

So how's it going so far then?

Have you seen the price?  I think I'd rather save £2k and go with a new 650,  or spend £2k more and go woth the 1050

Or maybe the 650 does not make enough power to mix it with modern traffic when fully loaded and or with a pillion. Up gunning a 100cc or so may make all the difference to Suzuki being able to continue to supply a bike in this market. Not top end power but for the most often required mid range grunt while conforming to Euro 5 type emissions regs.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.
