With Suzuki dropping the V engine in favour of a like everyone else twin, its ironic that I read this:

The problem for all these Chinese manufacturers is the same... distribution.

CF Moto appear to have done a deal with KTM which means that KTM dealers will / may stock CF Moto bikes, but all the others, regardless of brand name are scattered about amongst a handful of small independents, some of which (like my local Benelli dealer) only stock 125cc bikes.

I am in no rush to change my VStrom and I'm not a lover of 21" front wheels for the kinds of road miles I ride so maybe these manufacturers will eventually start to make an impression but at present it feels like the industry is getting all excited over nothing.
The older I get, the better I was.

The new for 2023 Honda Transalp looks to be a better bike by far and depending on price, may be a really good option when the V-Strom is discontinued. If you scroll down the OP,s link you will see it.

As for Chinese bikes, I wouldn't knowingly buy one but I think some BMW's are made in China but don't quote me on that.

Thank you to the OP for a  :text-goodpost:  :thumb:

Even if they aren't assembled in China there will still be many parts in there that are. I doubt there is a car or motorcycle manufacturer in the world where some part doesn't originate from China.
It'll be interesting when they invade Taiwan and we stop all trade with em.
