My last bike was a RE Himalayan , fantastic bike, but they all suffer from random cutting out on the standard plug .... the change to iridium plugs changes all that .... no one is 100% sure why but it makes a great difference.

How often should I be having my valve clearances checked / adjusted ? My 2016 650 has just hit 17K ?

Bring back the good old days when plugs were serviceable  :) some of those I use on my vintage stationary engines can be stripped for cleaning.

At my next valve check (45k) I think I'll replace the centre two plugs as there a pain to get at and leave the two side plugs be. You can get at the side two easy if they don't last 30k miles. Another 25-30 quid saved!
