Well she has done it again
« on: October 01, 2022, 08:35:29 »
For the second time since being married the wife has reversed into my vehicle, the first was about 10 years ago when she reversed off our drive taking out my car.
Last night she reversed onto our drive forgetting to put the electronic handbrake on and rolled down the drive pushing my bike into the back fence. I haven't had the heart to look yet... I'm hoping she hasn't bent the forks.
Stupid little button for the brake, what was wrong with a dirty great big handle to pull and the satisfaction of the clicks.

 lol lol lol

You will see the funny side, but it may take a few decades.

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure she's very contrite.

Oh mate, that is savage. I trust you'll be parking it with a Hi-Viz vest draped over it from now on 😉

She won't exchange bodily fluids, so I've no chance exchanging details  :smirk:

We've all got electric vans at work. Mine's a Peugeot.  Lift little switch to apply "parking brake". Lift it again to release said device. Or, stop van, take keys out, automatically applies parking brake. If in drive and parking brake is applied, just press accelerator and it disengages. Simple to get used to after a while. My mrs has forgotten to put her car handbrake on twice, and stalled it twice when she forgot it had a clutch and gears.

The Mercedes vans at work have a small pedal for the left foot to apply the parking brake and a small lever under the right of the dashboard to release it.

Bring back the big clicky handle with a button on the end between the seats!

Hope the damage is just cosmetic if there's any Holmsey... although you do have THE perfect excuse for a new bike if you fancy one...

Reminds of many years ago when my wife drove our brand new car, 2 hours old, straight though the garage door and out the back wall!!!!   :icon_exclaim:  She was hysterical afterwards!!!   Mind you I did have my hands round her throat at the time!!!   :dl_smiley_banghead: :dl_smiley_banghead: :dl_smiley_banghead: We’re divorced now!!!
