Strom 1000 F1 code c17
« on: July 31, 2022, 19:26:11 »
A couple of weeks ago my 2016 strom 1000 started running rough and the F1 light came on, I stuck it dealer mode and C17  (Intake Air Pressure Sensor) error came up.

When the ignition is switched off and on it would start normally and the warning would disappear for a short period before running rough and reappearing again.

I searched the net and someone on stromtroopers had the same issue and resolved it by changing the vacuum pipe from the throttle body

I've just come back of holiday and will get stuck into it this week but not sure where I should start looking as I understand there are a couple of sensors, is the sensor at the front or the back of the airbox?

Advice needed

Had a look at the sensors and vacuum pipes today.
Sensor plugs all connected, front vacuum pipe felt soft in places so changed to a same size Halfords vacuum pipe, the back pipe seems OK.

Started bike after 5 minutes F1 light came back on.
How do I test the sensors or do I give in and take it to my local garage who can't look at it until September.

The air intake pressure sensor is not to expensive at £75 according to Fowler's parts list, I'd try that rather than wait till September.
There is also a few for sale on ebay for a 2019 model, maybe worth a punt. Hope you get it sorted.

I had a look at fowler's but I thought it was the sensor boost 18590-32G00 that was required at £258 if somebody can confirm which sensor relates to C17 error.
If it's the sensor at £75 I'll bite the bullet and order one, but at £258 I'd rather be 100% sure it would fix the issue.

Did you have any luck in finding a replacement?
I've got the same issue checked the vacuum hoses and there fine also worth noting on this model there are 2 air pressure sensors!!

I had to take it to a Suzuki dealership in the end, it was the sensor boost 18590-32G00 that was faulty.
I searched ebay and couldn't find a second hand one for my model and fowlers didn't have stock, so had to bite the bullet and pay £251 for sensor + labour.
The mechanic told me that C17 is the front sensor (blue cover on wire) and C13 is the back sensor, if you swap them round the fault moved. Hope this helps.
