Givi monokey topcase mounting.. 2014 1000
« on: July 24, 2022, 10:36:24 »
So, been doing a few checks/onceovers and upgrades.
Wanting to fit my monokey topbox..
The base plate I have is an older E122 but in perfect condition.
If I mount it where the top box needs to be for passenger clearance, the V-strom rack has a lot of flex.. I can cure some of it with an extra mounting point, but still not great..
What plates are other using? I was looking at the E251 plate, or perhaps one of the alloy plates?? There seems to me 2 types of alloy plate, a folded version and a pressed version..
Or, is there a metal replacement rack/grab handle kit that's good??

I have the option to knock up an alloy plate to create more rigidity... But not sure that's the solution if something off the shelf is available..
Cheers
