Why are online motorcycle forums dying?

Good job this place is more of an institution for society's misfits than a motorcycle forum, right?

Could part of the problem be Facebook..?

Personally,  this is the only forum I'm a member of however, I've joined quite a few "groups" on Facebook.
Generally, what ever vehicle I own, I join a group to get info and tips, just like here.

I know Facebook is a "Marmite" thing but it has its uses.

Yep the FJ/FJR forum is about to shut down, I've been on it for over 13 years and it was going long before that. It's been an excellent forum, but the bloke that runs it can't give the time to it any more and to be honest there's been very little traffic for 6 months, on the wane for a few years. Lots of the regulars from there are now using a FB group.

This site was secretly set up as a social experiment.

It wasn't cheese he found, it was a fatberg.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

It was a group of special individuals. Yes, I am using 'special' in a yellow bus, window licking sort of way.

I'm wondering if I will avoid getting my fruit confiscated on the banana forum?

I only ever found two that were worth reading, this one, of course, and the VTR forum.

Do you have a link to the VTR forum mate?

Asking for a friend.
