Has anyone lowered their V-Strom 250?
« on: December 13, 2021, 23:58:08 »
Whilst I love my V-Strom 250, being a short-arse I find that I can only touch the balls of my feet either side when stationary. Fine on the flat, but is any uneven ground is involved it can be a little stressful.
Is there an easy way of lowering this bike maybe 20mm or so? Can it be done with "dog bones" or would it mean a new rear suspension spring? Can you get a low-seat option anywhere?
Any advice gratefully received !

Send these blokes an email via ebay and ask them if they have them.
20mm sounds about right.

Reduced my rear shock preload to minimum and this actually has made a real difference. It was only on setting 3 to start with, no 1. Trying to avoid the potholes though!

Out of curiosity, has anyone measured the distance between the bolt holes on the lowering links on a DL250? I was wondering if the DL650 stock links (140mm between bolt hole centres) are longer than the DL250 and thus could be an option to consider for lowering the DL250 suspension. It would also depend on whether the bolt hole diameter is the same.

Any thought of perhaps raising the forks in the triple tree / yoke?   https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=20227.0 and https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=39737.0
