Considering selling my 1000 AL8
« on: August 26, 2022, 17:57:54 »
The missus is taking her test soon so considering getting a smaller/cheaper bike (maybe a 650 strom!) 'cos as we'll have a bike each most likely won't need the two up oomph of the 1000.

Had a look at Autotrader/ebay etc, and prices seem all over the shop at the moment, but was thinking in the £6500 ballpark - does that sound sensible/too much/too cheap?

It's a DL1000 AL8, 5200 miles, new MOT (Sep 2023 - no advisories), Full Suzuki luggage, Bigpie Aux box feeding LED lights and Oxford hot grips, Givi Airflow (original will be included), Aftermarket mirrors (originals inc. again), Healtech X-TRE (has transformed the low rev snatchiness of these models and I seem to get better MPG). I'm the second owner, FSH (last service at 2780 miles).

Also has the advantage of being Yellow.

I realise this will need to go in the For Sale section to actually advertise it but this is more a price advice/gauging interest post at the mo'.

Fancy selling your X-TRE separately?

Sounds and looks like a really nice bike for little money.  Good luck with the sale.

@Pete O Tube Not at the mo'. If it ends up at a dealer I'll probably remove it though.

Going to look at a Street Triple 765 and a Moto Guzzi Breva 1100 today - bit different. Test driving a 2019 DL650 week after next.

My DL also has the centre stand fitted btw.

@pstm no worries, I'm about to order one, it was what I was wanting to hear re. the effect of smooting out the low speed glitchiness on the gen 2, it's one thing I really dislike about mine (had one on my gen 1 1000).

Coincidentally, you mention a Street Triple 765 - I bought a new 765R last year (retirement present from me to me), plenty rapid enough for UK roads, weighs nothing, exhaust note and induction roar, comfy, great fit, finish and detailing from Triumph - nowhere near as economical as a Strom though (mid 40's mpg if used as intended.
