V strom DL1000 rear dog bone link 2018
« on: June 13, 2022, 14:10:52 »
Just come back from France and on a few of the corners I was dragging my belly pan going right and the centre stand going left 2 up. I think its been lowered on the rear suspension link. I'm 6 ft and can stand flat foot with a couple of inchs between croutch and seat. Can someone give me a clue as to where I can find the length of the standard dog bone link. Cheers

The 2014 on models have a different rear link than the original.  They use triangular plates rather than the dog bone type.
Maybe if you remove them it might say something on them. Sorry I can help with an measurements.
Sounds like its lowered, I'm 5 11 and I can flat foot but there would not be much between the seat and me. Are the front forks through the top yoke much, should only be a few millimetre, is it a pig to get on the centre stand. Just a few things that might help you figure out if its lowered

A way to check if it has been lowered is to see how big a gap you have from the tyre to the floor, then ask an owner with a standard set up to give your there measurement.

While this USA site doesn't confirm the dogbone length, it does give some information that may be of interest, https://www.adventuretech.biz/2014-DL1000--dl1050.html and https://www.adventuretech.biz/how-much-raiselowering-do-I-need.html
