k2 DL1000 Tank cover. Baglux or similar?
« on: March 29, 2022, 21:56:48 »
Hi,
I'm looking for a full tank cover for a 2002 DL1000 V Strom.
Big dent in the tank I need to hide, Tank bag is useful to...

New or used is fine....
I only know of Baglux and can't find one new or used.
I've seen a Top Sellerie one which is similar from France, but £43 postage is very steep.

Any one have one laying around or know of alternatives? Thanks...

How big is the dent?
They can be pulled out, and without any damage to the paint.
Alternatively, can it be filled, painted and blended in?

Its pretty big and unsightly.. bottom left of fuel filler cap, where all angles meet.
Will cost more than its worth to pull, fill and re-spray etc..

Just ordered one, was in my basket at £120. Seller offer of £94.99 They accepted my counter offer of £80 with free next day delivery! So could have been much worse.
Its got a locked filler cap with no key I'll have to remove and a big ugly stick on tank protector, but no dents, a few light scratches I can hopefully sort...

I'll put mine up for sale on here, Its one of those things that's worth doing if you can DIY..
I'm no good at filling, re-spraying to a decent standard. Don't have the right gear of ability...

Would still like a baglux type tank cover though!
