Hex bolts/screws
« on: March 26, 2022, 22:55:00 »
The black hex bolts/screws for the tank panels and pivot panels - all my black bolts/screws are a bit discoloured. Worn. I’d like to replace them so it’s either take ‘em off and give them a bit of a spray with matt black or buy new ones. So, before I go bezerk and buy a tin or matt black aerosol paint and end up with more paint on my kitchen than in the bolts, where can I buy these bolts/screws..? Does anyone sell something similar..?

If you want to replace them with genuine Suzuki screws you can find them here I guess: https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/

Or maybe just ask at your local Suzuki dealership parts counter.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

Painting them will be cheaper, you may put a better finish on them than the factory did and think about the satisfaction you will have after salvaging the old ones and making them like new. That's what I would do.  :thumb:

Thanks blokes. The Fowler’s link is handy cos I do want to replace the steering head bolts and handlebar clamps. Mine are rusty. Cheers.

As for the rest, I think I’ll give ‘em a spray with some matt black. I live in a flat so looks like my kitchen is going to get a dusting….

I can say that I have purchased from this site, but it has appears in my searches before.

https://www.speedyfasteners.com/Suzuki_V_Strom_1000_2014_Stainless_Steel_Bolt_Kit_p/sf495.htm

Is this the type of thing you are looking for?

They also appear to do them individually - https://www.speedyfasteners.com/Motorcycle_Fairing_Bolts_s/1871.htm
So I guess if you know the sizes you could try that

I have these from Speedy, some fit some don't. The front mudguard bolts where miles off.
I was able to get something that worked OK from pro-bolt.
