Valve check n owners manual
« on: October 07, 2021, 14:43:48 »
Hi all have a 1000 Strom Al8 designated X not XT, coming up to valve check time.
Is there any great issue with this? Ie special tools etc ? Can you buy a pack of shims prior to commencement.
Where do I get a workshop manual preferably genuine Suzuki without paying the Earth.
           Help advice appreciated

              Thanks Regards Ratt

Easy enought job if you're mechanically minded. No special tools needed ( thou a long 3mm allen key helps with the front airbox boot). I'd not buy any shims cause you don't know the size till you remove them. I never got a manual, watched a few YouTube vids and got on with it but it would help I guess and always good to have.

It can be a real pig to do the front cylinder if the radiator does not move forward enough. Done it twice now and decided on the second one to remove the radiator - so much easier to work on
