E10 in the UK.

E10 Petrol will be the main fuel on UK forecourts in the next few months. It’s been a problem when taking bikes abroad in the past where nothing else is available.
Do we have a definitive list anywhere of which V-Stroms are compatible and which are at risk?

Hi, From the .gov site (https://check-vehicle-compatibility-e10-petrol.service.gov.uk/manufacturer/Suzuki)
For Suzuki:
E10 petrol is cleared for use in all current production models with petrol engines.

For older models: Please refer to Owner's Manual

2002 Model Years and onwards - all motorcycles can use E10 with no problems.
1992-2001 Model Years – some models can use E10 fuels and some models cannot. The user should contact his national importer for clarification.
1991 Model Years and earlier – RON 98 (no bio-fuel content) must be used.

I've seen elsewhere the same info that anything 2002 onwards will be fine. In incompatible vehicles it mainly damages the rubber parts.

You can remove ethanol from 'E5' or 'E10' by adding coloured water to a volume of petrol, shaking it and letting the water settle to the bottom and draining off the coloured liquid, which is water and ethanol. Only advisable for 10 litres as it will take a few hours to settle out.  :icon_wink:
So how's it going so far then?

The rest of Europe has had E10 a while with no probs. If you have an older bike that isn't suitable for E10 just get premium fuel, the small extra cost isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
