BikeVis Bullets V2
« on: March 20, 2021, 01:10:56 »
Just finished adding some additional LED lights (BikeVis Bullets V2) to make more visible. I still have LED auxiliary fog lights (on a switch) but wanted some extra side lights at a decent distance apart and away from the headlight.

I could have drilled and double sided tape these anywhere, but I didn’t want to touch original panels. So I bought some cheap crash bar blocks of eBay, drilled them and mounted the Bullets.

They do the job, cheap and robust! If I drop the bike the blocks are cheap to replace and it takes just a few minutes to drill some 5mm holes for the wires. The cable tie is temporary while the double sided tape cures, once removed should look neat.

Very tidy job Sir. I like the heater in the garage to keep your bike comfortable on a cold night too.

Nice job ..  :thumb:

Are the sticky pads underneath not strong enough to hold the lights without a cable tie ?

Maybe a hot glue gun would do the trick ..

They are temporary, the last line on his post explains it.

Tidy job, but I hope they last longer than mine did.
I had two pair on different bikes and after about 11/2-2yrs two failed, so bought some cheaper and brighter ones from ebay, with the thread on the back, and made a mount with Sugru.

I would love them to last forever but a year or two is fine and probably normal for cheap lights. I haven’t hard wired them in, I just used a waterproof connection piece to connect to wires that are hard wired in place. This way to replace is quick and easy, and if I change the type of light no need to re-wire half the bike.
