If you have a bike on SORN is the insurance still valid for theft?
If it's going to be on SORN for some time why not have a word with your insurers to see if you can get it "third party, fire & theft" might save enough for a few tanks of fuel when it's back on the road?
I do doubt you'll have any luck with the insurers but got to be worth a phone call?  :thumb:

Yes Brockett. I get an email reminder from Gov.uk - you can sign up for it here: https://www.gov.uk/mot-reminder

I chose to get a text message reminder.

I sorned the XJ last october with the plan to pass my car test in November.
When we got locked down again the test was shelved and the XJ needed to be MOT'd.

MoT done, taxed 10 mins later sitting outside the garage.

Its the first time that I have SORN a bike but due to the lock down and not being able to travel. I just thought that I would save taxing the bike for a month or two.

I run both bikes on the same policy, so I probably would not be able to have one on a laid up status and the other on fully comp, plus there is a £30 admin charge to any changes  with my insurance company so I will just leave it as it is.

I do tend to use the V-strom for mostly two up riding and the tracer 700 for commuting and one up fun, plus the wife still thinks that it is a bit cold for her to be out on the bike!

Why not place the dates, as birthday type reminders, on your cell phone as contacts? That way, you will receive each reminder when due on your calendar. Mine I did as licence for the surname, so all that all licence entries are kept together on the contacts. The 1st and 2nd names allow for any description of your choosing.
