code on my battery says 16042A, so 16th April 2012? 
wonder why they don't just put 160412?
good battery to last this long, prob jinxed now I know :groan:

Mine went a couple of months ago on my L2 - it too was OEM. 

Seems that the 650 Strom doesn't put much strain on it's battery - though I'm guessing that largely depends on how much extra electronic crap you strap onto the bike...

Lithium batteries can very occasionally ignite. If one cell fails it can cause a domino effect, you'll no doubt have seen the exploding laptops and tablets. Therefore, in the absence of a heated seat, how cold its been lately, and  my 12 year old battery refusing to make it to puberty I was considering one.
