Should I upgrade anyway?
« on: November 10, 2020, 16:30:47 »
I have been looking at the new 1050 many times. I decided that I wanted to keep my 650 from 2017 (registered 2019). but... I got an offer. For 6000 GBP I can swap it in for a brand new 2050. should I go for it?

it is up for the big 24000 km service. chain and sprockets are no longer new as for the rest of the bike. it is working (except for ABS issues, more on this later) as new.

So I get a new, fresh bigger bike for only 6000 GBP...

Would you do it or keep you 650?

Yeah... but... the 650 is also such a nice bike. I going to miss it.

I would probably say yes but beware once you taste the power anything less may seem puny. I had a 600 years ago. Traded up to a 1000. Had a go briefly on the 600 a while later and....what...where did the power go? Everything is relative.

If you can afford it buy the 1050 and maybe keep the 650 as well  :stirpot:  :stirpot:

Haha, yeah, but I do not need two adventure bikes.

Can I use the equipment from the old bike? Pannier adapter - topbox adapter?

Need to find out how I can get the sidecases from the 650 on the 1050.

Unfortunately the tankbag also can't fit as the tanklock is lowered )-:

Had my phone in the tankbag, så maybe I need a holder for the phone.
