Vstrom 1050 xt
« on: September 20, 2020, 17:10:21 »
Picked up the yellow peril. On Thursday. Today was the first proper ride. 250 miles. My bum hurts. I even had a gel seat fitted. Any ideas on better seats?

I have a gel seat on my 650. It is brilliant. As this hasn't worked for you, you may want to try an "Airhawk". Expensive but very good and cheaper than a gel seat too.

I think you are right.  :thumb:
Shame though as it worked perfect on my Gsxs 1000 whilst on my Scotland trip last year.

Air hawk every time. They are not cheap but they do the job. I have ridden a number of 500 mile plus days with no issues. You need to experiment with the amount of air to start with but you will soon find the right level.

I use an Air Hawk also. I've  tried 3 different seats on my 14 Veek with not much success, they were better than the oe but not that much better. I now use the standard seat with the air hawk. I get about 200 miles before I need off.
I sat on the new 1050 at the dealers, first thing I thought was flip that seat is hard!

I agree with user650. Air Hawk seems  dear. Bought one of these for £20 and have examined Air Hawk. Seem identical to me. Works a treat.

I personally don't find the 1050 seat too bad, but then again I'm fortunate enough to have an biological gel seat in my fat ar5e......
If it has two wheels.. I'll ride it.
