Replacement Brake Lever - Glee
« on: June 01, 2020, 09:22:03 »
Hello All, my bike came with shorty levers, which look and feel really good quality. I like having a short lever on the clutch side, but I'm finding I don't like it so much on the brake side. I find that the reduced leverage and number of fingers on the bar makes me feel like the brakes are not quite 'there' immediately when I want them. It's fine for easy riding, applying the brake smoothly with two fingers etc, but if you want to stop in a hurry I'm not so convinced. These brakes need all the help they can get. Thus I'm on the market for an aftermarket long brake lever.

Browsing google it seems most of the aftermarket levers are shorty ones. There's ebay and amazon stuff, but I've no idea about the brands and what's well made etc.   I want something decent quality- anyone got any recommendations?

Why not revert to an OE one?
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

Yes I suppose I could do that. I assume they're silver-coloured?

My clutch lever is black so ideally like to match. Do have handguards though so not the end of the world.

I bought a really cheap set from ebay. Amazing quality, considering the price (£15) cnc machined fitted and work well. And you can choose the colour.
Had them fitted for 1000 or so miles. great

I've had those levers on my bike for 22K miles- zero problems. I also have a long brake\ short clutch lever setup.
In my defence, she did leave me unsupervised.
