Idle Hammer
« on: August 04, 2020, 14:46:52 »
Hello everybody

I am the bloke from Switzerland and have been driving a KLV since 3 years. Before that I had a DL650 ABS K8.

For quite some time I am haunted by a phenomenon called "Idle Hammer".  :angry-banghead:

I asked John for his solution and wrote to him. He told me that I should look for the help of a lathe owner so that I could have a thread turned in the head of the crank screw. I was searching a long time, I can tell...  :GRR:

I ordered a new screw from Suzuki because I found a friendly helper with a lathe. But now I should still know what exactly should be machined in the lathe.
Will it be a M4, M5, M6 or M8 - thread? and how deep should it be? Inside or outside?  :icon_exclaim: that's why I need Help.

Unfortunately I did not receive exactly this information from John after our last mail. Does anybody know if he is on holiday at the moment? (It's legitimate, but it feels strange without any info, in the middle of the dialogue).

Or does someone Know the Instructions?

Kind regards

The bloke
