USB socket

I’m thinking of fitting a USB socket to my K6 1000. Has anyone done this? Was there a particular brand of socket you used and where did you take the power from?

Some USBs draw power all the time, so it's worth wiring up via a switched fuse. You can locate one of the stock connectors or use something like Bigpie's relay box.

I have the Cosmo handlebar shelf on my 2016 DL650XT, they do similar for the 1000, Fitted nice, looks like OEM (It looks like it should be there) and you can have multiple different sockets/gauges in it. I have it going through one on Bigpie's relay boxes.

Got this from Vehicle Wiring Products. Used a relay so its not permanently live.

Thanks blokes Have bought what Russ suggested. I can spike into current wiring for the Sat Nav which is wired to the ignition. Will let you know how I get on
