You can get your hands in, just. Once you feel the rubber bulb holder, twist it anti-clockwise.  :thumb:

Once you do get it out, the short cable that comes from the rubber bulb holder goes into a plug, however, Suzuki very helpfully clip that down  If someone has been in there before you, they may have released that clip and left it unclipped which gives you a few more inches to play with...Oooer.

I know this is for the later model but it might give you an idea of what to look/feel for?
It's the two white connectors you want.  :thumb:

I've not got big hands and even I had issues reaching into the area to remove them (and replace). Have a search on the forum for more tips eg https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6965.msg55341#msg55341

search under 'sidelight removal' or similar. There's also a big problem with bulbs dropping into the lens unit during the struggle to remove (or re-fit). I remember I cut a small panel with a stanley knife out of the black plastic, replaced the panel with some black ducktape, to easily fish out the dropped bulbs. I also lengthened the leads to the bulb holders.

I had the same issue, had a bulb drop inside.  I taped a piece of hose to a vacuum and poked it through the headlamp and retrieved the bulb that way.  So the bulb stuck to the end of the hose.
