Garmin 660 Motorcycle mount
« on: March 02, 2020, 14:03:54 »
Hi all,

I stupidly let my Gamin Zumo 660 motorcycle mount go with the Tenere I sold a few months ago. If anyone is thinking of upgrading their satnav, or looking to sell the mount, please drop me a message :)

Thanks!
Josh

Josh, did you buy it new? If so it should have come with the car mount? Not ideal but put into one of them waterproof covers it might do while you're looking for the motorcycle mount?
If you haven't got one I've got one you can use until you get sorted.  :thumb:

I am sort of in the same boat in that my mate gave me his Garmin 660 when he sold his bike but did not retain the mount. The connector that is shown above still needs to be attached to another mount to be fixed to the bike. I think I worked out a total cost of £140 when I looked into it a year or so ago so I didn't bother. The 660 is used with it's car mount in my bike trailer tow car and ..... yes the bloody car mount comes unstuck fairly often the until flies about the dashboard....

I’ve got a Garmin Zumo 660 motor cycle mount for sale, it doesn’t come with the handlebar attachment but it is the proper motorcycle mount with wiring complete. I’ve just taken it off my glee and replaced with the 595lm. It also comes with the cover. £30.00 plus postage.
Cheers Ian

@ Brocket, yes the 660 is a bit heavy for a suction mount & I did try it a few times with the same result as yourself.
My 660 is fastened to Cymarc bracket with one of these................

I already had the 1" ball on the bracket so didn't need the stem.
The offer from Loopian sounds good.

I've just had another look and find it is not a 660 but a 590 but the problems are the same and I can't yet determine whether or not the 660 mount will fit.  :dl_soapbox:

I don't think the 660 & 590 are the same mount (although they do look the same).
What about one of these, with the mount or similar I showed above and plugged into a 12v power source?

I am going to leave the 590 in the car and put a mount on the Z900 to take my Garmin 340 that I use on the other bikes.

Hi all,

Thanks for the messages regarding this. Loopian was kind enough to sell me his 660 mount :)

Thanks also to Dave the Rave for sending me some pictures of his mount through, unfortunately it was for the 5XX series I believe but still a great offer.

Cheers
