Tall seat for 2017+
« on: March 11, 2020, 08:03:02 »
I'm 6'1 and found the leg room a bit cramped but put off buying the tall seat due to being a tight arse (is £200 though!) So ended up buying it and can't recommend enough. Although 25mm doesn't sound much it makes a massive difference but also changes the feel of the bike slightly. Feels like your sitting on it rather than in it  :auto-dirtbike:

It would be less expensive installing lowering pegs kit. I installed one of those and also made huge difference. I'm 6'2.5

Hi Swordfish, its funny how we all like different stuff!

I'm 6' and went the other way, I have the low seat. I prefer the feeling of sitting in the bike, weather protection is slightly better especially combined with the far superior Givi screen giving me a noise and buffet free ride, fuel consumption is slightly better and after years of sportsbikes legroom and general comfort is perfect - for me! Also being able to flat foot both feet especially with a pillion adds confidence.

Good to know Swordfish.  I look at the 650 all the time and when I sit on one it does feel a bit tight in the legs and the bars seem far away too.  Good to know the seat and some up and back risers would help.
I have the footrests lowering kit on my 1000, helps but also moves your feet even farther forward which I don't like. Plus I bought the tall seat for the Veek but it is very tall, I'm on my tip toes, don't like that either!
