SOLD! 2007 V-Strom 650 - Running Repair - SOLD
« on: February 02, 2020, 17:21:26 »
I am selling my 2007 V-Strom 650 that has done 48,500 miles for £750 as a running repair
MOT expires 31.03.2020
2 keys
I am the 4th owner, I have owned for 6 years
Original Suzuki wallet with owner's manual, cd-rom service manual, old mot's etc
Dealer service stamps for 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010; it has been home serviced since I have had it

Extras and spares:
-   Heated Grips
-   Tom Tom mount, also have the tom tom but I can't get it to turn on, maybe needs a long charge?
-   Madstad adjustable screen bracket
-   Multiple standard and after market screens including a small black screen and a larger screen with a spoiler (an MRA)
-   Front mudguard Extender
-   Suzuki Aluminium bash plate
-   Crash bars
-   Rear Hugger
-   Radiator Guard
-   Hand Guards
-   Centre Stand
-   V-Strom brake reservoir topper
-   Full luggage, genuine Suzuki and colour matched panniers and top box including spare top box (although lock is broken)
-   Mirror Extenders
-   Paddock Stand bobbins
-   Spare panels
-   Nice black aluminium rack
-   Cymrac Top Box Adapter Plate
-   Progressive  fork springs
-   Brand new waterhose pump cover
-   Oil cooler cover
-   Spare paint which is paint matched for the bike

Recent work includes:
-   Brand new Regulator/Rectifier
-   Brand new battery

Within the last year/10,000 miles it has had:
-   Head stock bearings replaced
-   Front wheel bearings replaced
-   Rear wheel bearings replaced
-   Full fork service including new fork oil, new fork oil seals etc

She does need chain and sprockets replacing, and the front tyre tread is getting on the low side (the rear is not far from new). Other than the issue described below, the bike is mechanically sounds, but I would describe the body work condition as tatty - please see pictures

Fuel Injection Issue:
I am classing the bike as a running repair as the bike is running fine day to day. About 25% of the time, when she is started, rather than idling at 1300rpm it is around 800rpm until the engine gets warm, at which point the revs normalise.  There is an intermittent FI error code that shows on the clocks with this but the bike is still starting on the button every time.

There is a drain on the battery, which, if left will discharge to the point where the bike does not start after about 4 days. This drain removes if the Fuel Injection fuse is removed from the fuse box, which I am sure is all related to the same issue.

Anybody know if there is an issue with the website? When I try and upload photos (literally trying to add 1 at a time now!) whole thing just hangs?

Just added 'SOLD!' to title for you :thumb:
Shame about the bike - you getting another workhorse?

Thanks! Well I've brought a Duke 690, so it has to be a work horse whether it likes it or not  lol, how well it will do.....watch this space

It will definitely have more dealer services than the Strom had...

A KTM as a workhorse ..

We need a poll set up as to which will go first

The engine or his licence ...  lol

Harsh.

Very harsh.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Then again, the lack of front tyre wear should pay for any speed fines  lol
