Vstrom Height
« on: September 02, 2019, 18:30:03 »
Hi all,

This is a bit of a strange one, but was wondering if you could help. Basically I'm going to pick up a new Strom 1000 on Saturday, my good friend's Dad has let us borrow his VW Transporter van to drop my part ex and collect my new one. However, having done a google search, we think it's going to be tight. Would someone mind measuring their AL7/AL8 Strom to the highest point (without the screen) and whilst on a side stand?

Thanks in advance for your help.  :bow-blue:

Highest point on mine after removing screen and mirrors is 52 inches, the highest point being the screen mountings, if you are desperate you could drop the forks through the yolk and/or let wind out of tyres, hopefully you won't need to  :)

You only need 2cm. Let the air out the tyres or remove the front wheel.

Hmmm, lots of dead weight with the wheel off. Have two Shredded Wheat before you leave.  :icon_wink:

Good luck, you can do it!  :thumb:
So how's it going so far then?

Compress the front suspension a couple of inches with ratchet straps, there's always a way  :thumb:
