F1 light
« on: May 20, 2019, 21:08:39 »
Hi am up in the far reaches of Scotland
and my F1 light has just come on, how big of an issue is it. I had to ride 50 miles to get to my lodgings and seemed to run OK. Any help asap would be fantastic

I think you will find it is FI not F1 and a forum search will get you loads of advice. Hope you get to the bottom of it.

Hope you are getting on OK chubnut. As Graham62 says, if you have  a red FI light, you can get a fault code (post it on here when you do). Other info might help too, such as 'do you also get a CHEC display; is the red light flashing, and what year/model is your 650? :thumb:

Try a search on here under 'FI light' ?

Had a simular thing with mine after I dropped it and broke the clutch lever. Turned out to be the switch in the lever. got a new one off flea bay. it was actually for a bandit, same part number, but cheaper. managed to ride with the FI light on, it just puts the engine into limp mode.

Thanks for replies, I am back from Scotland now FI light did keep coming on sometimes after a few mins sometimes 20 or so mins. On way home the last 2 legs it didn't come on at all. I did drop mine as well so that explains why it came on in the first place. When it came on the bike just ran as normal. It is a 2012 DL650 L2

Thanks for all your help, got to the bottom of it, it was a loose clutch switch, so an easy fix :happydance:
