fork brace are they any good

is a fork brace any good, thinking of buying one but need a good reason before I splash out
nearly £100  for something that might be crap,two pieces of metal bolted together seems a bit,
expensive. some have 5 pieces
anybody use one what's your opinion.

I fitted one on my Vee years ago and it certainly improved the stability when going quite fast. Quite noticeably when getting caught in the turbulence when overtaking artics at illegal speeds. It tracked much better and never felt it was getting out of shape. If your'e fitting it your self make sure it's done properly. Get it wrong and it can tighten up the fork action which will not help the handling at all.

Where are you buying one from? I don't think mine cost anything like £100.

I fitted mine the day before I rode up the M6 in a vicious side wind. Did it help or was I just a better rider than I was? I'm not sure,  but I won't take it off to find out.

I've got one, can't say I've noticed it make a difference. Cosmo are cheaper than that I think

I have fork brace from about 2 years. Noticeable improvement with stability on higher speeds and crosswinds.

I had one fitted on my '09 wee, and it did exactly as pichulec described. One of the best mods.
However, strangely, I feel my '17 650xt doesn't really need one.  :shrug:

I agree with most of what you say. However, fitting one is unlikely to cause problems as the fork brace screw threads would strip long before you damage the forks. That doesn’t mean that good engineering common sense shouldn’t be used when fitting. They certainly don’t require a mechanic to fit. 😉🙏

I fitted one to my 2016 Glee.
