The standard one that Suzuki recommend. Adjusting gear ratios will make your Speedo highly inaccurate.

Not sure about all the DL650s but the early ones used a wheel speedo sensor, so changing the sprockets wouldn't make any difference to the reading. Later models may well be different. All DL1000s use a sensor from the gearbox so changing sprockets does alter the speedo reading, making it inaccurate. A smaller gearbox sprocket lowers the gearing, improving acceleration and increases engine revs at cruising speeds that you may not like. A bigger sprocket does the opposite, raises the gearing, reduces acceleration but can make cruising speeds more relaxing. Really depends what you are looking for. Generally speaking, standard gearing is best for most people.

DL1000 use wheel sensor for speedo. I owned '14 model and now I own '18 model. I changed front sprocket on both bikes (went down one tooth) and there was no change on speedo.

I have tried standard, +1 tooth & +2 teeth.
Each increase of 1 tooth dropped the revs 500rpm ish when cruising at 80mph (on the continent of course! ) but when you get back to the twisty bit you can't beat the standard sprocket.  :thumb:

All the first generation DL1000s (up to the K8s in the UK when they were off the market for a while) used a gearbox sensor and if sprockets were altered the speedo would need an additional device to correct it. The new generation 1000s have ABS which uses front and rear wheel speed sensors so there would be no need for the gearbox one. There was no ABS option on the early 1000s.
